Ian Bodzasi is a mixer, producer, and engineer based out of Toronto, Canada.

 

After graduating from the acclaimed Music Industry Arts program at Fanshawe College in 1999, he was hired by Toronto's Metalworks Studios. Metalworks is one of Canada’s leading recording facilities, which has won the CMW Award for Best Studio 17 times and has been host to such artists as David Bowie, Prince, and Guns N' Roses. In time he became the studio's Chief Engineer and in 2006 stepped down to freelance. His private mix studio is now located within Toronto's João Carvalho Mastering complex.

 

Some of Ian's credits include Katy Perry, Nelly Furtado, José Feliciano, Flower Travelling Band, Sum 41, Sam Roberts, Ronnie Hawkins, D12, Randy Bachman & Burton Cummings, Jacob Banks, The Tea Party, Platinum Blonde, author Robert Munsch, Hey Rosetta!, Sharon & Bram and the documentary film Festival Express, which included live performances by Janis Joplin, Grateful Dead, The Band, and Buddy Guy. The film was featured at the 2003 Toronto Film Festival, and went on to an international theatrical release the following year. According to RottenTomatoes.com, the leading independent source of US film reviews, Festival Express was the second most critically acclaimed film released in 2004.

 

Ian's work has been included on other feature film soundtracks including Shark Tale, Spiderman, and Wes Craven's The Hills Have Eyes. He also recorded the soundtrack for The Warriors (Rockstar Games' video game adaptation of the 1979 cult film) which has sold over 1 million copies, and mixed "Free To Be", the former anthem of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Other notable mixes include WWE UK Women's Champion Kay Lee Ray's entrance theme "Venom" (used both live and in the WWE 2K20 video game), and Paige Van Zant's entrance theme in EA Games UFC 4.

 

Ian has worked with many of the industry’s leading record producers including Bob Rock, Eddie Kramer, David Bottrill, Dave Ogilvie, Richard Chycki, and George Massenburg. As 2nd engineer Ian's credits include Tina Turner, Aerosmith, Geddy Lee, Limp Bizkit, Ben Folds Five, NSync, Finger Eleven, and the Academy Award winning film Chicago.
